The Arden Hills development project known as Rice Creek Commons may add an additional 500 housing units to the 427-acre property. The former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant parcel, which was bought in 2013 by Ramsey County, will be redeveloped to include business, retail and a proposed 1,960 housing units, said Kari Collins, director of community and economic development for the county. The goal for the sprawling development is a cohesive mix of residential and commercial neighborhoods surrounding a town center. The additional 500 units would be constructed in the southwest neighborhood and the southern part of the town center, according to a September presentation given by Alatus, the project’s developer.Housing density was a previous sore spot for the project as the city wanted fewer housing units and the county wanted more.“Through exploration in 2023, we feel the site is ready to accommodate 1,960 homes to be more accommodating to the housing needs the region is facing right now...

Denver’s starting offensive line quintet has been a stable force over the first nine games of the season. They’ve played all but five snaps together, two that right tackle Mike McGlinchey missed against Miami and three center Lloyd Cushenberry missed Monday night at Buffalo.Heading into a prime time game against Minnesota, though, the run of consistency is in some jeopardy.Starting left guard Ben Powers (foot) missed practice Thursday and hasn’t done any work so far this week. He stretched on his own early during the portion of practice open to reporters, then went into the Broncos’ weight room building.“It was something from the game and we’ll see how he goes tomorrow,” Payton said. “We’ll see where he’s at.”Denver still has time remaining in the week. Payton said the team treated Thursday’s practice like a Wednesday session and will have a heavier-than-normal Saturday slate due to the short week of preparation. It’s possible, as Payton alluded, he’ll feel good enough Friday t...

But the Buffs coaching staff has struggled with clock management, whether it be at the end of halftime (see: a key TD in the Oregon State loss) or the waning moments of the fourth quarter (see: narrow defeats to Stanford and Arizona). It’s proof there’s a learning curve for Sanders, who’s only in his fourth year as a college coach.Finding a balance: CU’s lack of a run game is killing them. Benefit shows can be slogs. But All for Armenia, a comedy show on Friday, Nov. 3rd at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater, was anything but. It managed to raise money for a vital cause while also being very, very funny. The show was hosted by comedian and master impressionist James Adomian, who along with producers Sam Varela of Naked Comedy, Chris Tcholakian of the Everything Now Show and stand-up Armond Gorjian, put together a stellar lineup of comics and character performers, jammed into two hours. All proceeds for the show went to All for Armenia, a nonprofit that provides humanitarian aid to the estimated 100,000 Armenians displaced from the Nagorno-Karabakh region, also known as Artsakh, after being pushed out by neighboring Azerbaijan. All told, the show raised over $1,700.Adomian kicked off his hosting duties with a short set that included his best-in-the-biz Bernie Sanders impression and musings about his (one-quarter) Armenian-ness.There wasn’t a dud in the program that f...
