Members of the Ontario Liberal Party are voting this weekend to select their new leader to go head-to-head with Premier Doug Ford in the 2026 election.The party has been without a permanent leader since last year, when Steven Del Duca resigned after the 2022 provincial election produced a second dismal result in a row for the Liberals.The four candidates members will choose from are Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, Liberal MP and former provincial cabinet minister Yasir Naqvi, Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith and former Liberal MP and current provincial caucus member Ted Hsu.The leadership race has seen the candidates sign up a record number of members, with more than 100,000 people eligible to vote for the new leader, up from 44,000 and 38,000 in the two previous leadership contests.Voting takes place largely in person on Saturday and Sunday for Liberal members in ridings across the province, with a small number of members in more remote communities voting by mail.The ballots are set...One of world’s largest icebergs drifting beyond Antarctic waters after it was grounded for 3 decades

LONDON (AP) — One of the world’s largest icebergs is drifting beyond Antarctic waters, after being grounded for more than three decades, according to the British Antarctic Survey.The iceberg, known as A23a, split from the Antarctic’s Filchner Ice Shelf in 1986. VIRGINIA, Minn. — Two Virginia police offers were injured early Thanksgiving Day in a structure fire that claimed the life of an apparently suicidal man, according to a release from the Iron Range city’s police department.Officers were dispatched at about 4:55 a.m. Thursday to respond to a man threatening to burn down a building with himself inside. When they arrived, they found the apartment on fire, and officers could not persuade the individual to leave the building before the structure was engulfed in flames. (KRON) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting that occurred in San Francisco on Saturday. San Francisco police officers responded to the 400 block of Turk Street on a report of shots fired around 4:18 a.m. on Nov. 25. According to police, dispatch officers were alerted that two subjects were reportedly shooting at one another. Arrest led to suspect kicking officer in the face in San Rafael Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both suspects were transported to a local hospital. One of the suspects was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other suspect suffered non-threatening injuries. The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail has taken over this active investigation.
